Joiwo’s Reliable Railway Communication Solution

The Railway Communication Solution is a highly reliable and resilient telecommunication system engineered to ensure safe, uninterrupted communication across railway networks and stations. Central to this system are railway weatherproof telephones, designed with weather-resistant and waterproof housings to endure harsh outdoor conditions, such as extreme temperatures, heavy rain, sun, and dust. Installed strategically in railway stations—including platforms, control rooms, and trackside areas—these rugged devices integrate seamlessly with the broader telephone telecommunication system, enabling clear and secure voice communication between staff, operators, and emergency responders. A standout feature is the one-touch speed dial communication capability, which allows instant access to critical support during emergencies, streamlining response times and enhancing operational safety. Built for durability and ease of use, the system ensures 24/7 functionality, even in challenging environments, while maintaining compliance with industry standards. This robust solution not only optimizes daily operations but also safeguards personnel and passengers, making it a cornerstone of modern railway infrastructure.

The Railways on Board Passenger Announcement and Emergency Call System is composed by the following devices:

Gooseneck smart microphones Loudspeakers
Audio amplifiers Passenger Alarm Intercoms
Loudspeakers Passenger Emergency Intercoms

Passenger Announcement:

Utilizing a flexible-neck smart microphone, the Railways’ On-Board Announcement system enables drivers to make live broadcasts to passengers. Amplifiers and loudspeakers distributed throughout the train carry these announcements, which can also originate from the ground-based operations center.

Emergency Call:

If a passenger activates the dedicated button on a Passenger Emergency Intercom (PEI) to request assistance, a call is initiated to the driver’s cabin. Simultaneously, the system triggers an alarm, prompting the CCTV system to automatically display video from the camera nearest to the PEI unit activated.

Emergency Intercom Systems:

1.PEI units meet TSI/STIPRM requirements and function within the system per EN16683 standards. Upon call reception at the cabin microphone, the associated LED illuminates intermittently while an audible alert sounds, identifying the call’s source location.

2.The Passenger Alarm Intercom (PAI) operates under EN16334 compliance. Installed adjacent to each doorway and linked to the corresponding emergency brake handle (PAD), PAI automatically initiates driver communication when passengers activate the handle.

All voice communications between PAI, PEI, and the driver’s microphone utilize VoIP technology.

Third-Party System Integration:

The railcar’s integrated Passenger Announcement and Emergency Call System features an Application Programming Interface (API) enabling external systems to: Disseminate pre-recorded announcements including:

-Station approach notifications

-Station arrival/departure updates

-Door operation advisories (opening/closing)

-Onboard service information

-Operational and safety bulletins

-Deliver multilingual broadcasts

These capabilities enhance passenger spatial awareness and security perception, contributing to improved travel comfort and satisfaction.
