Xinjiang Tarim 600,000 tons per year ethane-to-ethylene project is the largest refining and chemical project invested by PetroChina in southern Xinjiang since 2017. It consists of three main production units, 600,000 tons per year ethylene, 300,000 tons per year high-density polyethylene, and 300,000 tons per year full-density polyethylene, as well as public works and auxiliary systems. The project adopts the ethane steam cracking process technology independently developed by PetroChina.
Tarim 600,000 tons per year ethane-to-ethylene project is based on the rich natural gas resources of the Tarim Oilfield and is built in accordance with the principle of “on-site resource transformation, comprehensive utilization, and joint development of enterprises and local areas”. The project makes full use of advanced information technologies such as big data and cloud computing, and integrates the advantages of communications and mobile platforms to become an “intelligent factory” integrating production scheduling, electromagnetically instrumentation control and emergency command.
In this ethylene project, Joiwo Explosion-proof telephones, Ex junctions, Ex horns and servers and goose neck desktop phones were integrated in the central control rooms and outdoor working area.
